Plain answer
Do I need to transition my ISO 30301 certificate now?
No. A certificate issued today is against ISO 30301:2019 and remains valid to its expiry while the certificate is maintained. The next edition is not published, and no ISO 30301 transition document has been issued.
Today
The published edition is ISO 30301:2019, including Amendment 1:2024. A certification body issues against that edition. An auditor cannot audit you against a proof, and the PRF does not change the certificate.
When publication comes
No ISO 30301 transition document exists. Global ACI has set three-year transitions for ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026, with an 18-month cut-off for new certificates against the old edition. The dates on this site apply that precedent to the public 2027 window and label it as a scenario.
Your next audit
If your certificate expires before the planning date, renew to the 2019 edition and ask the body what it expects after publication. If the expiry runs past the planning date, put the transition on the agenda for the next surveillance visit.
What to do now
Fix the gaps that would be found today, especially the 8.2 analysis and the Annex A controls. Put the clause references that may move on a list. Decide who owns the transition.
