ISO 30301 revision date and readiness check
This check answers three questions from the certificate you hold: which standard applies today, when the transition case falls, and what to do at your next audit. It is computed by rule from the public stage record, the Global ACI precedent and the dates you enter. It does not decide conformity and it does not replace your certification body.
ISO 30301:2019, including Amendment 1:2024
That is the standard a certificate is issued against on 22 October 2026. The PRF does not change it until the new edition is published and the transition arrangements take effect.
What the check applies
| Input | How it is used | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Certified | The certificate is against the 2019 edition. Compare its expiry with your target and with the illustrative transition case, and name the next audit where the transition can be discussed with the body. | ISO 30301:2019; ISO/PRF stage record |
| Implementing | Build and certify to the 2019 edition now. There is no certificate to transition, and designing for a proof does not replace the current requirement. | ISO 30301:2019 |
| Not started | Start with the 2019 edition and a three-year certification cycle; the revision will arrive inside that cycle. | ISO 30301:2019; publication estimate |
| Expiry | If it falls before your target, discuss the renewal with your certification body and confirm which edition and pathway will be available. If it falls after the case, the printed expiry is not the deadline: under the precedent the old-edition certificate is expected to be void at the end. | Your target; Global ACI precedent |
| 18-month cut-off | Under the Global ACI precedent, new certificates against the old edition cannot be issued after a cut-off 18 months after publication. A late recertification to 2019 may not be available. | Global ACI precedent |
| Integrated | An integrated audit with ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 can carry the transition at the same visit; the check says so and does not book it. | Audit practice, not a rule |
| Sites | More than one site adds sampling and matrix rules that the certificate body controls. The check names it. | Certification practice |
| 8.2 analysis | A missing or unapproved records analysis is a current gap against ISO 30301:2019 clause 8.2, not only a future issue. The check names it as a current action. | ISO 30301:2019, 8.2 |
Blank or impossible answers return "dates incomplete" and name what is missing. The check never guesses a lighter pathway.
What the check does not do
- It does not audit your system or decide whether you conform.
- It does not decide whether your certification body will accept a transition plan, or when its accreditation body will require one.
- It does not replace the Global ACI transition arrangements when they are published.
- It does not give legal advice, and it does not certify anything.
The rules this is built from
Every line names its source. The 25 clause-level records and the 3 Annex A records for the requirements that apply today are written from the published ISO 30301:2019, in our words; the evidence and the common gaps are our reading, cited to the clause. The revision layer is read from the public ISO stage record and the committee's published comparison. Where the record is silent, the page says so. Read from the real rules, not invented.
